Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group in the Northeast is seeking a Design Engineer I to support electric distribution design for major utility clients. You’ll collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to deliver designs, calculations, and documentation for distribution projects.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in engineering (ABET-accredited) and internship or co-op experience with electric utilities, plus familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD and ArcGIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Electrical Engineering preferred; related engineering disciplines will also be considered).
• Internship, co-op, or professional experience supporting electric utilities, power delivery, distribution design, or related infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn electric utility design principles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for electric distribution systems.
• Develop construction work packages and supporting design documentation.
• Utilize design software and GIS-based tools to create and maintain utility designs.
• Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, designers, and utility clients to support project delivery.
• Assist with field data collection and verification activities as needed.
• Support project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
• Participate in client meetings and gain exposure to utility standards and engineering practices.
• Learn and apply utility design standards, company procedures, and industry best practices.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced consulting environment.
