Bolton & Menk, Inc. is seeking an entry level Design Engineer, EIT, to join our Municipal team in our Duluth office. The role supports project managers and engineers in design and construction activities for municipal projects, with growth toward professional licensure.

We value collaboration and community impact. Candidates may be December 2026 May 2027 graduates or have 1–3 years of EIT experience, with travel during construction seasons and CAD/software proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• Certified Engineer-in-Training or able to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Prior experience in either infrastructure design and/or construction observation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on municipal projects.
• Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, research and rough drafts of reports.
• Assist with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantity take-off estimates.
• Construction observation activities including staking, documentation, and coordination with city staff.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college
