Bolton & Menk, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Design Engineer (EIT) to join the Transportation team in Fairmont, MN. You will assist project engineers on municipal projects, perform basic design tasks, and help with plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

Travel to sites is part of the role, and visa sponsorship is not provided. The position is open to December 2024, May 2025 graduates or an EIT with 1–3 years of experience, with a salary range of $58,000–$90,000 depending on credentials and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Certified Engineer-in-Training or able to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Prior experience in infrastructure design or construction observation preferred.
• Working knowledge of CAD and design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation).

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on municipal projects.
• Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout, and design; prepare rough drafts of reports and feasibility studies.
• Assist with project plans, specifications, and cost/quantity take-off estimates.
• Conduct construction observation activities including staking, administration duties, and coordination with contractors and city staff.
