Bolton & Menk, Inc. in Oakdale, MN is seeking an entry‑level Design Engineer, EIT to join our Municipal team. You will assist project managers and engineers in design and construction activities on municipal projects, with guidance as you develop professionally.

The position targets December 2025 or May 2026 graduates or an EIT with 1–3 years of experience, requires CAD proficiency (AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation) and willingness to travel during construction season.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
Certified Engineer-in-Training or able to obtain within 12 months of hire.
Prior experience in infrastructure design or construction observation.
Working knowledge and skills in CAD and design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation).
Requires frequent travel during construction season.
Possess a valid driver’s license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.

Responsibilities

Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on municipal projects.
Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
Assist with project plans and specifications, prepare cost and quantity take-off estimates.
Construction observation activities may include staking, documenting activities, measuring and testing, and interacting with contractors and city staff.
