Job summary
Bolton & Menk, Inc. in Willmar, MN, is seeking an entry-level Design Engineer (EIT) to join our Transportation team.
You will support project managers and engineers on municipal design and construction activities, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to safe, sustainable communities. The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, will obtain EIT within 12 months, and is proficient with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Civil3D and MicroStation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
- Certified Engineer-in-Training or able to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Prior experience in infrastructure design and/or construction observation.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on municipal projects.
- Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
- Assist with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantity take-off estimates.
- Construction observation activities may include staking, documenting activities, measuring and testing, and coordinating with contractors and City staff.
