Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Current license to practice law in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates assigned cases by reviewing documentation, conducting legal research, interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and determining actions.
• Drafts, files and responds to motions, briefs, or other legal documents for trials or hearings.
• Explains legal processes to witnesses and keeps clients or victims informed on case status.
• Gathers and presents evidence for trials or hearings.
• Represents the State in trials and hearings with jury selection, opening statements, examinations and closing arguments.
• Participates in settlement or plea negotiations.
• Prepares documents if a settlement or plea is reached and ensures proper filings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
