Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school.
• Current Texas law license is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates cases by reviewing documentation, researching applicable laws, interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and determining actions.
• Drafts and files motions, briefs, and other documents for trials and hearings.
• Explains legal processes to witnesses and prepares them for testimony; keeps clients informed.
• Gathers and presents evidence and exhibits for trials or hearings.
• Represents the State in trials/hearings with jury selection, openings, examinations, and closing arguments.
• Participates in settlements or plea negotiations.
• Prepares and files settlement or plea documents with signatures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
