Job summary

Sysco Central California, Inc. is hiring an entry-level Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician I in Modesto, CA. You will learn to perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and light repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment to enhance safety and reliability.

Under supervision, you will diagnose faults, document work orders, and develop skills in vehicle systems, with opportunities to participate in Sysco’s incentive plan and training programs.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge and skill of vehicle systems and components.
• Basic knowledge and skill in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on all equipment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Learn to perform CVI inspections on fleet vehicles under guidance.
• Learn to perform maintenance repairs on tractors, trailers, and related equipment.
• Address driver vehicle inspection reports timely and correctly the first time.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specs.
