Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking an Apprentice Fleet Technician to learn and perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on tractors, trailers, lift-gates and other Sysco equipment. The role focuses on safety, reliability, and cost efficiency through hands-on learning under guidance.

Responsibilities include performing CVI/FAI inspections, diagnosing malfunctions, and completing work orders while adhering to company methods and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Proven basics of vehicle systems and components.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems.
• Welding and cutting skills (gas, electric, MIG, TIG).

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance with guidance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Carry out inspections (FAI/CVI) on fleet vehicles per regulations.
• Support repairs on engines, transmissions, drive-line, brakes, HVAC and other systems.
• Document all work on work orders with accurate cause and correction.
• Develop efficiency in Sysco computer programs under supervision.
