Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care Fresno is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient CAP 1 program. This role coordinates and delivers clinically competent care for a group of dialysis patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

The position requires RN licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and state practice compliance. The department focuses on teaching, leadership, and quality improvement within the ESKD care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under supervision and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or other RNs.
• Performs ongoing collection and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis and documents in the medical record; adjusts treatment plan as indicated.
• Educates patients and families about care needs.
• Directs and provides daily safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy.
• Administers prescribed medications and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Provides staff training and orientation for new staff as assigned.
• Ensures correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping procedures.
