Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical (SMC) is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer/Designer to assist with mechanical design for mission critical projects in data center environments. You will work under guidance from senior engineers on greenfield and brownfield data center designs, collaborating with disciplines across electrical, plumbing and architecture to deliver robust solutions.

The role supports training and skill growth, with a path to contribute to feasibility studies, system

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology preferred.
• EIT is a plus.
• Internship/co-op experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Use Autodesk Revit to produce detailed design documents.
• Perform airside and hydronic calculations for multiple mechanical systems.
• Develop hydronic and airflow diagrams.
• Learn to select and specify HVAC equipment.
• Meet project deadlines, including extended hours when needed.
• Review local and national construction codes and project specifications.
• Utilize Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
• Travel up to 10% to project sites.
• Communicate clearly in writing and speaking.
• Take direction from senior/mid-level engineers and designers.
• Work independently while coordinating with other disciplines.
• Participate in training and mentoring to grow knowledge.
• Maintain strong organizational skills and multitask.
