Job summary

Smart Building Technologies is seeking an early-career Controls Technician to support installation, troubleshooting, and service of building automation systems in Owings Mills, Maryland. This role requires 2+ years in HVAC controls or related fields and a solid understanding of BAS components and programming.

You will work on EMS/BAS projects, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with the service team to ensure seamless system operation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in HVAC controls or related field.
• Deep understanding of BAS components and control strategies.
• Programming experience; Tridium or Distech experience a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert service to EMS/BAS systems to ensure performance.
• Perform service installation projects including sensor upgrades and controller replacements.
• Conduct preventive maintenance visits to ensure reliability.
• Troubleshoot with the service team to resolve issues.
• Develop programming skills to be self-sufficient, even without remote support.

Smart Building Technologies is seeking an early-career Controls Technician to support installation, troubleshooting, and service of building automation systems.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of experience in HVAC controls, electrical troubleshooting, BAS, or a related technical field!

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert service to our existing EMS/BAS systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Dive into service installation projects, from sensor and relay upgrades to programming tweaks and controller replacements, always pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
• Conduct proactive preventive maintenance visits, safeguarding our systems and ensuring they operate flawlessly.
• Partner with our service team to troubleshoot, resolve, and verify service issues, ensuring seamless operations.
• Hone your programming skills to become a self-sufficient service guru, ready to handle any challenge, even when remote support isn't available.

What we hope you bring to the table:

• Experience: 2+ years in an industry-related field, including HVAC Systems and DDC Systems
• Know-How: Deep understanding of BAS control components, control strategies, and programming.
• Software Proficiency: Tridium Certification and Distech experience would be a plus, but not a requirement. :
