Job summary
Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America in De Soto, Kansas, is seeking a Controls Engineer I to support programming, installation, and troubleshooting of automation systems within our battery manufacturing operations. Under supervision, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, test, and implement efficient controls solutions, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and production goals.
This role offers growth in a state‑of‑the‑art facility near the Kansas City metro.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Experience with PLCs, industrial automation, robotics, or manufacturing controls is preferred.
- Training or certifications in industrial controls or electrical safety (vendor-based or OSHA) are a plus.
- Hands-on exposure to high-volume manufacturing automation is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Assist with programming, installation, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
- Support vision systems and PLCs under guidance from senior engineers.
- Analyze equipment specs to design solutions compatible with manufacturing facilities.
- Prepare schematics, assist prototype builds, and support data analysis.
