Job summary

Panasonic Energy is expanding to De Soto, Kansas, building the world’s largest lithium-ion battery factory. The Controls Engineer I will help program, install, and troubleshoot automation systems such as Keyence vision systems and multiple PLC platforms under supervision.

You will analyze equipment specs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to design, testing, and data analysis to improve manufacturing efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Coursework/capstone in PLCs, automation, or manufacturing controls preferred.
• Internship or co-op in manufacturing/automation environment preferred.
• Introductory training in industrial controls or electrical safety welcome.

Responsibilities

• Support programming, installation, and troubleshooting of automation systems (Keyence vision and PLCs).
• Analyze equipment specifications to design and implement efficient manufacturing solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and validate system designs within constraints.
• Prepare schematics, assist prototypes, and contribute to engineering evaluations and data analysis.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and engineering standards during automation activities.
