Job summary
Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America is expanding to De Soto, Kansas, building the world’s largest lithium‑ion battery factory. The Controls Engineering Technician I will support operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automated equipment and control systems, working with cross‑functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and production performance.

Qualifications
- Associate degree in Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, or related field
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred)
- Foundational experience in industrial automation, controls, and troubleshooting
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical systems in a manufacturing environment
- Must have working-level English language skills (reading, writing, speaking)
- Familiarity with Mitsubishi, Omron, Keyence, Siemens, Rockwell PLC platforms and related networks
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, electromechanical, and automated manufacturing equipment to restore safe operation
- Perform testing, fault diagnosis, component replacement, wiring modifications, and equipment recovery
- Troubleshoot routine controls issues involving PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, sensors, and drives
- Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and SOPs to support repairs
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
- Develop knowledge across multiple production areas and controls platforms
- Support preventive/predictive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives
