Job summary

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America is expanding to De Soto, Kansas, building the world’s largest lithium‑ion battery factory. The Controls Engineering Technician I will support operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automated equipment and control systems, working with cross‑functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and production performance.

You’ll gain expertise across manufacturing systems, collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred)
  • Foundational experience in industrial automation, controls, and troubleshooting
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have working-level English language skills (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Familiarity with Mitsubishi, Omron, Keyence, Siemens, Rockwell PLC platforms and related networks

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, electromechanical, and automated manufacturing equipment to restore safe operation
  • Perform testing, fault diagnosis, component replacement, wiring modifications, and equipment recovery
  • Troubleshoot routine controls issues involving PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, sensors, and drives
  • Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and SOPs to support repairs
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
  • Develop knowledge across multiple production areas and controls platforms
  • Support preventive/predictive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives
