Job summary

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America is expanding its De Soto, Kansas operations and seeking a Controls Engineer I to support automation systems, vision and PLC programming, and data-driven improvements in a high‑volume battery manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with a cross‑functional team, assist in design validation, and help implement efficient, safe manufacturing solutions under guidance, contributing to the company’s mission in sustainable energy and EV technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering/technical field.
• Experience with PLCs and industrial automation is preferred.
• Introductory training or certifications related to industrial controls or electrical safety are a plus.
• Strong understanding of core engineering principles applied to manufacturing automation.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and overseas stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support programming, installation, and troubleshooting of Keyence vision systems.
• Assist programming, installation, and troubleshooting of PLC systems (Mitsubishi, Omron, Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Analyze product/equipment specs to support design for manufacturability.
• Assist in developing schematics, prototype builds, and data-driven evaluations.
