ECS Limited is a Columbia-based Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician role offering paid training and certification support. No prior experience is required, with a starting pay of $19.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites under supervision.
• Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and laboratory tests per industry standards.
• Data Collection: Calculate and reduce data from tests; assist with drafting and admin tasks.
• Communication: Maintain daily site communications and report changes or requests.
• Training and Development: Learn ECS methods and document findings precisely.
