Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Columbia, SC, is hiring a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician with no experience required. You'll learn under senior staff, perform observations, sampling, testing on soils, aggregates, and concrete, and develop practical QA skills in the field and lab.

You’ll receive paid training, OSHA-10 and other certifications as you progress, with certification fees covered by ECS. A driver’s license and ability to lift up to 85 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Must have valid driver''s license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials (soils, aggregates, concrete) on sites.
• Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field and/or laboratory tests following industry standards.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction from sampling and test results.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings precisely.
