Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a motivated Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Cleveland team. No experience is required as you will be guided by senior staff and receive paid training; we also cover your certification fees.

You will conduct field tests on soils, aggregates, and concrete, collect data, and communicate with project teams throughout projects. As you gain experience, ECS will support professional development and certifications (OSHA 10, ACI, ASNT, ICC, NICET,

Qualifications

  • No experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
  • Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road regulations, and company policies.
  • Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
  • OSHA 10 certification may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials (soils, aggregates, concrete) on project sites.
  • Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and/or laboratory tests following industry standards.
  • Data Collection: Calculate and reduce data from sampling and test results.
  • Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; relay site changes.
  • Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology and document findings precisely.
