Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic coating inspections under supervision. You will verify surface preparation, measure ambient conditions, film thickness, and document each stage on tanks and structures across sites.

Required CIP Level 1 certification and 1+ years in coatings inspection. The role requires meticulous instrument use and accurate records, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.
• Honest about what the gauge reads.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet/dry film thickness and check holidays/defects.
• Verify coatings materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life against datasheet.
• Keep daily coating inspection log and photograph stages.
