Job summary

ECS Limited offers a field-based opportunity in Mobile for a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician. The role involves field observations, sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision, and assisting with testing activities to support project execution.

As you gain experience, ECS will support professional skill development and encourage participation in certification programs such as OSHA 10, ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, and state DOTs.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Obtain basic certifications applicable to the work as per ECS policy.
  • Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS operations.
  • Good communication skills (verbal, written, reading comprehension).
  • Dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented work ethic.
  • Basic math skills and data entry ability.
  • Ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret plans.

Responsibilities

  • Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision.
  • Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites.
  • Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
  • Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
  • Assists with preparation and submission of daily field reports.
  • Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results.
  • Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment.
  • Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
  • Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
  • Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
