Job summary

ECS Limited is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in Buffalo. No experience is required as you will learn under experienced mentors to safely perform field activities, sampling, and testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete.

You will receive hands-on training, guidance, and opportunities to pursue certifications such as OSHA 10, ASTM standards, and CMT qualifications. Competitive pay and development await in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • No experience required.
  • Must have High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
  • Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Able to operate a motor vehicle safely and follow laws and company policies.
  • Willing to learn CMT principles and ASTM standards to earn certifications.
  • OSHA 10 certification may be required.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Able to work effectively with contractors, peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Field Activities: observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete at sites under supervision.
  • Testing Procedures: perform routine field/lab tests following industry standards and procedures.
  • Data Collection: compute and summarize test results; assist with drafting and admin tasks.
  • Communication: maintain daily contact with site contractors and project managers; report changes.
  • Training and Development: receive ECS training for observations, inspections and testing; document findings accurately.
