Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our team in a learning-oriented role. No prior experience is required as you’ll work under experienced professionals to learn field observations, testing and data collection.

We provide paid training, cover certification fees, and support development through OSHA 10, ACI, ASNT, and other programs to advance your skills and career within a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• No experience required; paid training provided.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift 85 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Willing to develop understanding of CMT principles and ASTM standards.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.
• Strong communication skills; able to work with contractors, peers and supervisors.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of soils, concrete, and radiation safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites under guidance of senior staff.
• Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field and laboratory tests following industry standards.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction from sampling and test results; assist with drafting and admin duties as requested.
• Communication: Maintain daily contact with site contractors, technicians and project managers; report site changes and testing needs.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodologies and document findings per engineering practices.
