Job summary

ECS Limited in El Paso, TX is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician. No experience is required as you will learn under seasoned professionals; paid training and certification fees are provided to help you start a career in construction materials testing.

You will perform field testing on soils, aggregates, and concrete, collect data, and coordinate with project managers. The role emphasizes safety, reliable communication with contractors, and readiness to obtain CMT

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
No experience required.
Must lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
Must have valid driver’s license and insurance.
Must operate a motor vehicle safely and follow laws, policies.
Willing to learn CMT principles and ASTM standards for certifications.
OSHA 10 certification may be required.
Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
Ability to work with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Field Activities: Observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete at project sites under guidance of senior staff.
Perform routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete.
Collect and reduce data from sampling and testing; assist with calculations and admin tasks.
Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers; report site conditions.
Receive training on ECS methodology and document findings with engineering precision.
