Job summary

American Water Works Association is seeking an entry-level civil engineer to support planning, design, operation, and construction of water and recycled water projects in California. Under close supervision, you will gain experience and develop proficiency while performing routine duties and learning established methods.

You will assist with calculations, drawings, and reports, and coordinate with District staff, contractors, and designers to ensure projects meet standards and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required or closely related field.
• PE license not required for entry level; progress toward PE encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering planning and design for water and related facilities.
• Prepare calculations, sketches, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Assist senior staff as project engineer and coordinate with stakeholders.
