Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Springfield, MO is hiring an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck on local and interstate routes. You will complete a training program, assist with deliveries, and perform safety checks in accordance with DOT rules.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, obtaining signatures, and maintaining logs. CDL-A, 21+, and a clean MVR are required; full-time position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of service in good standing with PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee/Dock to Driver program and able to attain CDL Permit and DOT Health Card.
• 0-6 months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A license.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Pass post offer drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card.
• Able to lift and move freight weighing 60–90 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete the Entry Level Driver Trainee program.
• Ride with and assist driver trainer during deliveries.
• Perform pre/post trip safety checks per DOT regulations.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspect trailers and ensure proper loading and paperwork.
• Drive and deliver customer orders on schedule.
• Unload items and obtain customer signatures; collect payments where required.
• Secure equipment and complete daily logs and housekeeping tasks.
