Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Omaha, NE is seeking an entry-level Driver Trainee to learn to operate tractor/trailer and deliver food products on local, intrastate and occasional overnight routes. Training lasts about 11 weeks with pay at $22.00 per hour.

During and after training you will follow DOT regulations, complete safety checks, unload shipments, collect signatures and ensure secure loading. Entry requirements include CDL A eligibility, 21+ and a clean MVR.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Valid CDL A (external entry) or ability to attain CDL permit.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test and road test.
• DOT Health Card current or in process.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver training program.
• Assist driver trainer with deliveries and follow instructions.
• Perform pre/post-trip safety inspections in line with DOT regulations.
• Drive to deliver customer orders on defined routes.
• Unload and stock freight, verify invoices and obtain customer signatures.
• Ensure security of tractor, trailer and freight at all times.
• Complete daily hours of service logs per DOT and company requirements.
