Job summary

Intermountain Health in Colorado is seeking a part-time Echo Technician to perform diagnostic cardiac/vascular ultrasound exams under a physician's direction. The position is designed for recent graduates or those new to the field, with on-the-job training and mentorship available.

You will prioritize exams, coordinate with medical staff, educate patients, document findings, and support quality improvement efforts while contributing to a culture of safety and compassionate care at Good Samaritan

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; education from an accredited institution will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physicians, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for exams by identifying patients, educating on procedures, and transporting patients.
• Perform ultrasound exams per protocols in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort while achieving quality outcomes.
• Document exam results and required information clearly.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Maintain equipment, workspace, and stock supplies.
• Support repair or supply needs through proper channels.
• Contribute to quality improvement processes and initiatives.
• Participate in educational opportunities to enhance clinical competence and skills.
• Provide education for caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate.
