Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
• 0 to 2 years of experience
• EIT certification preferred
• Intern experience preferred
• Experience with VDOT projects desirable
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Open Bridge Modeler desirable
• Experience with STAAD, SAP2000, or similar a plus
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
• Pre-employment background check required
• E-Verify employment eligibility

Responsibilities

• Utilize structural analysis software for design, such as Leap Bridge tools and STAAD/SAP2000
• Complete design tasks with supervision and learn to work independently
• Coordinate structural design with other disciplines and construction team
• Familiarize with AASHTO, VDOT, AREMA, and UPRR/BNSF guidelines
• Compile data and perform calculations for drawings and design studies
• Prepare cost estimates
• Prepare construction documents
• Collaborate with Bridge and Rail Team and other disciplines
• Conduct bridge inspections and assist site investigations

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred

EIT certification preferred

Intern experience preferred
