Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking a Technician I in training to perform onboarding tasks, animal handling, and data collection under supervision. You will learn dissection procedures, sample collection, and lab prep while ensuring safe working practices in a GLP-compliant environment.

The role requires strong communication and the ability to manage multiple tasks, with pay of $19/hr and overtime as needed. No sponsorship required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; associate or bachelor’s in biological science or equivalent.
• Experience: No previous experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of English.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities; safe work environment awareness.
• Ability to follow GLP/SOP/BOP/IACUC rules and learn validated systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure welfare and humane care for all animals through positive interactions.
• Train in onboarding tasks including animal handling, euthanasia, and dissections.
• Collect, document, review data in forms or electronic systems.
• Review documentation for quality control; maintain instrumentation and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
