Job summary

The HT Group is seeking an IT Support Technician on a 6-month contract with a path to full-time conversion. The role is based in South Austin with a hybrid schedule (four days onsite, one day remote) and supports about 1,100 users across multiple locations, including international sites.

The candidate will gain hands-on training and work with a collaborative service desk team. Ideal for an entry-level IT professional eager to learn, with foundational IT knowledge and strong customer service

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of computers, OS, hardware and basic troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Windows environments; macOS exposure helpful but not required.
• Interest in starting or growing a career in IT support with a proactive attitude.
• Willingness to own tasks and not wait for assignment.
• Strong customer service, communication, organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and apply feedback.
• Comfort in a fast-paced environment with many tickets and walk-up requests.
• Willingness to work onsite in South Austin four days per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and basic Tier 2 support via Zendesk, phone, email, remote tools and in-person.
• Proactively take ownership of tickets from a shared queue.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, account access, connectivity and peripheral issues.
• Configure and deploy Windows and Mac laptops for new and existing employees.
• Prepare equipment for onboarding to ensure a smooth start.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding, including account setup and device provisioning.
• Support password resets and basic user administration.
• Assist with backing up, reimaging, and restoring computers.
• Provide hands-on support to office and warehouse staff.
• Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions in Zendesk.
• Escalate complex issues to senior teams as needed.
• Assist with hardware inventory, provisioning and procurement.
