Morrison-Maierle invites you to join our Transportation group as an Entry Bridge Engineer in Montana. You will be involved in structural analyses, design solutions, and project engineering for transportation bridges, serving both public and private sectors.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural required.
  • Current Engineer-In-Training (EIT) designation or willingness to obtain soon after hire.
  • 0–3+ years of relevant bridge engineering design experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support on transportation-related bridge projects; conduct structural analyses and design solutions.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, plans, specifications, estimates, and reports; manage project tasks.
  • Make day-to-day design decisions for bridge replacement/rehabilitation; coordinate with teams and clients.

THE ROLE

As an entry-level Structural Bridge Engineer, you will be fully engaged in project work, making a difference in the communities you serve. The Bridge Engineer will be responsible for conducting structural engineering analyses, designing engineering solutions, and managing project engineering for transportation-related structural projects within both the public agency and private markets. These responsibilities include:

  • Serving in a lead or support technical role, depending on project complexity.
  • Preparation of engineering calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and, at times, task or project management.
  • Day-to-day structural engineering design decisions on bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects, including production and scheduling.
  • Working in a team environment, both internally and externally.
  • Active involvement in client interaction at the project level.
  • Leverage engineering design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Write and complete technical reports and project correspondences.

YOUR STRENGTHS
  • Master’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural required
  • Current Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation or willing to obtain soon after hire
  • 0-3+ years of relevant experience in bridge engineering design work
  • Understanding of engineering design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Principal knowledge of load calculations, structural analysis, and design engineering
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal
