AutoNation is seeking a Non-Certified Technician to inspect and service vehicles as they arrive at the dealer, making minor repairs to place cars in saleable condition. Pay starts at $22.00 per hour with potential for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6-12 months of previous work experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• General mechanical skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Manual dexterity, good judgment and ability to operate power and hand tools safely.
• Ability to operate an automobile.

Responsibilities

• Sign an acceptance for each vehicle delivered.
• Inspect vehicles for safety compliance and defects.
• Inspect surfaces for chips and scratches in paint.
• Test drive to check steering, brakes, transmission and engine.
• Test power equipment like windows, seats, radio, lights, and signals.
• Replace defective items using hand tools.
• Install optional equipment per customer/Dealer specs.
• Install or repair major mechanical/electromechanical equipment using hand tools.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments.
• Tune engines using appropriate test equipment and tools as needed.
