The Non-Certified Technician role focuses on vehicle inspection, minor repairs, and ensuring saleable condition. Candidates should have a valid license, basic mechanical skills, and the ability to operate diverse shop tools

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 9–12 months of previous work experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• General mechanical skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Manual dexterity, good judgment and ability to operate power and hand tools safely.
• Ability to operate an automobile.

Responsibilities

• Sign an acceptance for each vehicle delivered.
• Inspect vehicles for safety compliance and defects (dents, scratches, upholstery, mechanical).
• Test steering, brakes, transmission and engine operation by starting the engine and driving the vehicle.
• Activate power equipment to confirm operating standards (windows, seats, radio, horn, lights).
• Replace defective items using hand tools per specifications.
• Install optional equipment (mirrors, rugs, seat covers) per customer/Dealer.
• Install or repair major mechanical or electromechanical equipment.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments; tune engines as needed.
