Heritage Auctions, the world’s largest collectibles auctioneer, seeks a Cataloger – Entertainment in the Dallas area. You will research, identify, and describe music and entertainment memorabilia with provenance, creating engaging catalog narratives for featured items.

Qualifications

• Strong research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Knowledge of music and entertainment history and memorabilia.
• Excellent attention to detail when examining objects and data.
• Translate research into engaging, accessible catalog descriptions.
• Organized with ability to manage multiple auction deadlines.
• Proficient in Word; able to use Excel for data handling.
• Strong communication and customer service orientation.
• Collaborative yet able to work independently as needed.

Responsibilities

• Research, identify, and catalog music and entertainment memorabilia with provenance.
• Write compelling catalog descriptions conveying significance and features.
• Examine items and prepare accurate condition reports.
• Collaborate with Consignment Directors for narratives and essays.
• Support authentication by gathering research and coordinating with specialists.
• Respond to client inquiries regarding cataloged items and context.
• Proofread and edit catalog entries for accuracy and grammar.
• Assist with catalog production and coordinate with Marketing for promo.
• Participate in auction previews and auctions, assisting clients and colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
