Heritage Auctions, Inc. invites applications for a full-time Cataloger – Entertainment to research, verify provenance, and craft engaging catalog narratives for featured memorabilia. You will identify items, document condition, and develop stories that connect objects to their history and culture.

The role requires strong writing, research and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work closely with Consignment Directors and Marketing to support auction promotion.

Qualifications

• Strong research, writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Interest in music and entertainment history and memorabilia.
• Excellent attention to detail when examining items and preparing catalog entries.
• Able to translate research into engaging descriptions for collectors.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Research, identify, and catalog music and entertainment memorabilia with provenance.
• Write clear, compelling catalog descriptions communicating significance and features.
• Examine items and prepare accurate condition reports.
• Collaborate with Consignment Directors to develop narratives and essays.
• Support authentication by gathering research and coordinating with specialists.
• Respond to client inquiries with professional documentation and context.
• Proofread and edit catalog entries for accuracy and grammar.
• Assist with catalog production and coordinate with Marketing for promotions.
• Participate in auction previews and assist clients and colleagues.
