Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Enterprise Platform Management Administrator to oversee Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualization across the district’s enterprise infrastructure. The role includes patching, security updates, and on-call duties to support 200+ schools and facilities.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree, 3+ years of Windows server administration, and experience with backup solutions, M365, Entra ID, and PowerShell scripting.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Two years' experience supporting Windows server environments.
• Three years' systems administration in Windows environments; configuring, troubleshooting, repairing server hardware.
• Proven experience with backup and restore technologies.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server operating systems in a complex enterprise environment.
• Manage Active Directory including users, groups, OUs, and GPOs.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID environments for provisioning and access management.
• Deploy and maintain virtual machines and virtualization infrastructure.
• Plan and validate patching and security updates to maintain standards.
• Monitor and troubleshoot enterprise systems.
• Handle backup and recovery operations.
• Maintain documentation of systems and changes.
