Job summary

Xcel Energy, based in Minnesota, seeks an experienced leader to shape enterprise technical training and workforce capability with end-to-end accountability for accredited and non-accredited programs across the organization. You will establish standards, governance, and a multi-layer training organization to deliver excellence.

You will partner with operating leaders to ensure regulatory compliance (NRC, NANT, 10 CFR 50/55) and drive improvements in safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of nuclear or technical operations experience with leadership in training or workforce development.
• Proven experience leading large, complex training organizations and enterprise initiatives.
• Deep knowledge of the Systematic Approach to Training and regulatory frameworks (NRC, NANT, 10 CFR 50/55).
• Strong strategic planning, financial management, and performance analytics.

Responsibilities

• Set and own the enterprise technical training strategy and long-range workforce-capability roadmap, establishing governance and standards across programs.
• Ensure training programs comply with regulatory requirements including NRC, NANT, and QA plans.
• Represent the organization in industry benchmarking and external engagements (INPO, WANO, NRC).
• Establish and monitor KPIs linking training to readiness, performance, and safety outcomes.
• Own enterprise training budgets, resource allocation, and staffing strategies across programs and initiatives.
• Partner with senior leaders to align training with operational needs and capital projects.
• Serve as SME on technical training and workforce capability to shape business strategy.
