Job summary

Xcel Energy, a Fortune 500 energy provider, seeks an engineering leader to manage staff for operation and maintenance of nuclear stations. You will oversee performance, provide coaching, and align work with safety and schedule requirements across site projects.

The role emphasizes staff development, program oversight, and collaboration with industry groups to implement reliability improvements. Hybrid work is supported with site-based leadership duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating integrated nuclear power knowledge.
• Eight years related experience including two years of supervisory experience or equivalent senior technical or lead role.
• Five years of nuclear experience preferred.
• Must have significant experience with evaluating and solving engineering issues. Professional engineering certification is preferred.
• Management training or education preferred.
• SRO license or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide site leadership for identification and resolution of equipment reliability and engineering issues through the Engineering Organization.
• Provide leadership and coaching to engineering staff members, including evaluating performance and driving continuous improvement.
• Interface with management to support day-to-day plant operations and maintenance including investigation of emergent equipment issues.
• Provide leadership and oversight for Equipment Reliability and Engineering programs, processes, and initiatives.
• Provide leadership for Emergency Response Teams and facilities for preparation and response to plant events as part of site-specific ERO assignments and duties.
• Support development and management of the Engineering O&M and capital budgets.
