Job summary

Avalara seeks a Support Tax Technologist to bridge product strategy with enterprise needs, combining tax technology expertise with ERP integration and advanced troubleshooting to maximize value.

You will work with large enterprise customers to translate tax and compliance requirements into scalable, embedded solutions, and partner with Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap for improved customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Deep tax technology expertise and ERP integration knowledge.
• Translate tax and compliance requirements into scalable, configurable solutions.
• Experience guiding post-implementation hypercare and handoffs to success teams.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Support to influence product direction.
• Lead customer-facing training programs and enablement sessions.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with enterprise customers and partners to assist with integration challenges.
• Provide subject matter expertise for Avalara solutions and integrations.
• Translate tax requirements (sales and use tax, VAT, exemptions, returns, e-invoicing) into scalable tech solutions.
• Deliver expert support for Avalara ERP integrations and related business workflows.
• Handle escalated issues, lead root cause analysis, and coordinate internal stakeholders.
