Job summary

Avalara, Inc. is seeking a Senior Implementation Consultant within its Professional Services organization to lead large, high-visibility enterprise implementations for Avalara’s Excise platforms.

You will own the technical architecture and tax determination strategy for multi-jurisdiction energy distributors and related parties. You will serve as a technical escalation lead, drive standards, mentor consultants, and collaborate with external partners across the team.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in enterprise software implementation and tax technology consulting.
• Strong ability to influence executive stakeholders (C-level, Tax Directors, Enterprise Architects).
• Experience with APIs, SQL, and data transformation pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery of complex enterprise implementations (multi-entity, cross-border, ERP/connector integrations).
• Architect custom calculation logic and mappings for high-volume datasets.
• Mentor consultants and provide technical governance for partners.
