Job summary

SUNY Westchester Community College (WCC) invites students to join as a Server Engineering Intern at the Valhalla campus. The role provides hands-on experience with enterprise server environments and mentorship from experienced engineers and WCC staff/faculty.

The internship requires enrollment in a CS or CIS degree program, a GPA of 2.5+, 24 earned credits, and approval from the Curriculum Chair. The position requires about 8 hours per week for a total of 120 hours during the semester.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at SUNY WCC in CS or CIS degree program.
• GPA 2.5 or better.
• 24 earned credits by time of internship.
• Approval of Curriculum Chair or other Faculty in Major.
• Ability to work 8 hours a week/120 hours over the semester.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate and resolve hardware/software and server related problems.
• Support server patching, updates, backups, and restores.
• Installation, configuration, and testing of infrastructure applications.
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers.
• Document system specifications as required.
