Job summary

Westchester Community College seeks an Instructional Technology Support Intern for the Center for Learning Resources. The role runs semester-long at Valhalla Campus, with duties ranging from tech support and user training to cataloging and event assistance.

Qualifications

  • Approval of Curriculum Chair or other Faculty in Major.

  • Must be enrolled at SUNY WCC in an industry related degree program (e.g., CS or CIS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong communication, writing, organizational and presentation skills; able to work independently.
  • Experience with equipment including projectors, handheld scanners, and interactive displays.
  • Proficiency in PC, Apple Desktops, networked A/V equipment.
  • Course requirements may include CIS 110, CIS 140 or COMSC 106, COMSC 134 & ART 129.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-user training for classroom technology including projection, audio systems, displays, and interactive devices.
  • Responds to user calls regarding audio/visual equipment issues in classrooms.
  • Prepare and maintain classroom equipment for instructional purposes.
  • Perform general clerical duties such as filing, scanning, copying, or preparing promotional materials.
  • Provide front-line customer service by assisting patrons with locating materials, using library technology, and answering general inquiries.
  • Support circulation functions, including checking items in/out, shelving materials, and organizing collections.
  • Contribute to cataloging, metadata entry, and collection maintenance projects.
  • Assist with library programs and events (e.g., book displays, workshops, outreach activities).

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Instructional Technology Support Intern is responsible for the following duties:

  • Technical support for end-users for hardware, software, peripherals, via phone, chat, email, or in-person.
  • Provide end-user training for classroom technology that include projection, audio systems, flat panel displays, and interactive devices.
  • Responds to user calls regarding audio/visual equipment issues in classrooms.
  • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of classroom equipment for instructional purposes.
  • Perform general clerical duties such as filing, scanning, copying, or preparing promotional materials.
  • Provide front-line customer service by assisting patrons with locating materials, using library technology, and answering general inquiries.

  • Experience with various equipment that include but not limited to projectors, handheld scanners, and interactive displays.
  • Proficiency in all the following: PC’s, Apple Desktops, networked audio/visual equipment.
  • Course requirements may include either CIS 110, CIS 140 or COMSC 106, COMSC 134 & ART 129.

Pay: Westchester County Minimum Hourly Wage for up to 120 Hours.
