RESPONSIBILITIES
The Instructional Technology Support Intern is responsible for the following duties:
- Technical support for end-users for hardware, software, peripherals, via phone, chat, email, or in-person.
- Provide end-user training for classroom technology that include projection, audio systems, flat panel displays, and interactive devices.
- Responds to user calls regarding audio/visual equipment issues in classrooms.
- Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of classroom equipment for instructional purposes.
- Perform general clerical duties such as filing, scanning, copying, or preparing promotional materials.
- Provide front-line customer service by assisting patrons with locating materials, using library technology, and answering general inquiries.
- Support circulation functions, including checking items in/out, shelving materials, and organizing collections.
- Contribute to cataloging, metadata entry, and collection maintenance projects.
- Assist with library programs and events (e.g., book displays, workshops, outreach activities).
QUALIFICATIONS
- GPA: 2.5 or better, student in good standing
- 24 hours of earned credits at time of internship
- Approval of Curriculum Chair or other Faculty in Major
- Ability to work 8 hours a week/120 hours over the semester in the internship
- Must be enrolled at SUNY WCC in an industry related degree program (e.g., CS or CIS).
- The successful candidate must be proficient and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong communication, writing, organizational and presentation skills are required. The candidate must also be able to work independently.
- Experience with various equipment that include but not limited to projectors, handheld scanners, and interactive displays.
- Proficiency in all the following: PC’s, Apple Desktops, networked audio/visual equipment.
- Course requirements may include either CIS 110, CIS 140 or COMSC 106, COMSC 134 & ART 129.
Pay: Westchester County Minimum Hourly Wage for up to 120 Hours.
