Job summary

Midcontinent-Independent-System seeks a seasoned strategic planning leader to govern enterprise planning and drive convergence of business strategies. You will oversee governance, standards, and executive facilitation to align initiatives with the enterprise plan and performance metrics.

The role requires deep expertise in strategic planning frameworks, governance, and financial modeling, with strong communication skills to tell compelling strategic narratives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 12–14 years of strategic planning and governance experience.
• Strong knowledge of financials, business cases, and cost modeling.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management.
• Excellent executive communication and storytelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Govern and improve the Corporate Planning Framework and governance practices.
• Collect, validate, and translate environmental scanning into actionable guidance.
• Coordinate convergence between enterprise and functional strategies.
• Facilitate planning sessions to align and create a unified Corporate Plan.
• Own corporate plan quality and ensure clarity and traceability.
• Govern planning hierarchy, templates, and publication of artifacts.
• Provide executive facilitation and synthesized strategic narratives.
• Partner with business units to ensure inputs are prioritized and represented.
• Align calendars and workflows across planning activities.
• Measure planning effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
