Job summary

Zuora is seeking a Customer Solutions Engineer – Payments to partner with Account Executives, understand customer payment architectures, and demonstrate how Zuora can optimize payment performance while reducing complexity for enterprise customers.

In this consultative role, you will lead discovery sessions, design flexible payment ecosystems across providers, deliver technical presentations, and translate complex concepts into business value for executives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solution Consulting, or Solutions Architecture supporting enterprise software.
• Deep domain expertise in enterprise payments gained through experience with a PSP, gateway, or payments technology company.
• Strong understanding of payment ecosystems including PSPs, gateways, processors, and digital wallets at global scale.
• Experience designing and discussing complex payment architectures for high volume B2C/B2SMB customers.
• Knowledge of payment optimization strategies, including intelligent routing, tokenization, and resilience.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, and modern integration patterns.
• Outstanding presentation, communication, and customer-facing consulting skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for executives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Zuora’s payments subject matter expert throughout the sales cycle.
• Partner with Account Executives to identify and develop opportunities within existing and prospective enterprise customers.
• Lead discovery sessions focused on payment architecture, gateway strategy, authorization performance, global expansion, and operational efficiency.
• Design solution architectures that support flexible payment ecosystems across providers, gateways, processors, and payment methods.
• Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and architecture reviews for executive, business, and technical audiences.
• Advise customers on best practices for payment orchestration, intelligent routing, tokenization, and payment resilience.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Product Marketing, Partnerships, and Engineering to represent customer requirements.
• Develop reusable solution assets and enablement materials to scale payments expertise.
