Job summary

Moderna is seeking a Principal Data Architect to design enterprise data architecture that enables real-time, AI-ready data across Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain. You will define integration patterns, data models, metadata standards, and reusable architecture artifacts that unify OT and IT data and govern diverse systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture
• 4+ years of experience supporting regulated environments such as pharma/manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain target-state data architecture across domains with reusable patterns
• Define and implement integration patterns connecting control systems with enterprise data platforms for real-time data flows
• Establish repeatable patterns for ingesting, transforming, and serving data from heterogeneous systems
• Define and enforce data standards, metadata, and lineage
• Design data models and semantic structures for analytics and AI use cases across domains
• Codify architecture patterns as templates and reference implementations
• Develop vocabularies and glossaries for consistent data interpretation
• Inform cloud platform decisions for warehousing, transformation, orchestration, and catalog tooling
• Mentor engineers and data product owners to raise architectural fluency
