Job summary

Moderna is seeking a Senior Data Product Manager to own data product strategy across CMC, translating operational needs into production-ready data solutions. You will align business value with data governance and AI-enabled workflows, working with SMEs and engineers to ensure clear ownership, measurable outcomes, and scalable data solutions.

You will drive adoption in operational processes, define data quality requirements for GxP, and maintain a living backlog mapping to business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Data Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years in pharma/biotech or regulated industries with CMC exposure.
• 6+ years delivering data/analytics or digital solutions in production workflows.
• Knowledge of data concepts, modeling, quality, and cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical systems and data domains (Veeva, SAP, MES, LIMS).
• Ability to translate business needs into clear, structured requirements for engineers.
• Experience producing specifications or data product briefs for builders.
• Experience collaborating across business and technical stakeholders on governance and data standards.
• Understanding of GxP, data integrity, and compliance for data/AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own prioritization and sequencing of data products and AI use cases based on business value.
• Define data products end-to-end—from use case to production—with defined consumers, SLAs, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure defined ownership, data classification, access, and lineage aligned with data governance.
• Make data products production-ready and operationally viable, not just analytical.
• Define data quality, validation, and traceability requirements for GxP compliance.
• Drive adoption within operational workflows by measuring usage and gathering feedback.
• Apply AI-first thinking to augment workflows and identify required data.
• Maintain a living backlog with traceable business outcomes and data readiness.
• Partner with engineering for testing, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Coordinate across data engineering, platform, analytics, and business teams to manage dependencies.
