Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking an experienced software leader to shape enterprise-wide software strategy from a Buffalo, NY base. The role involves driving SDLC excellence, enforcing regulatory compliance, and providing technical leadership across large banking systems.

You will coach engineers, architect cloud-native services on AKS, and collaborate with Executive Leadership to implement scalable, secure solutions with Istio, Envoy, and policy-as-code (OPA).

Qualifications

• Requires expert proficiency in at least 3 programming languages and strong Java/Spring Boot background.
• Azure/AKS proficiency with cloud-native architecture is essential.
• Experience with service mesh, Istio, Envoy, and policy-as-code (OPA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Champion SDLC best practices across enterprise domains and senior leadership.
• Code at expert level in multiple languages and mentor engineers.
• Lead cross-domain cloud-native rollout using AKS, Istio, Envoy, and policy-as-code standards.
• Engage with executive leadership to articulate engineering strategy and drive change.
