Job summary

Capital Bank N.A. is seeking an Application Architect to design and guide the bank’s enterprise application architecture across core banking, lending, deposits, credit cards, mortgages, and cloud platforms.

You will partner with business, risk, security, and vendors to ensure secure, scalable, and well-integrated solutions aligned with strategic goals. Responsibilities include defining architecture standards, leading SaaS solution architecture, designing secure patterns, and guiding Azure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, information systems, engineering, or related field
• Seven+ years in application architecture and integration
• Three+ years in banking/fintech industry
• Experience designing integrations across vendor platforms and cloud services
• Azure architecture experience including identity, security, monitoring, resiliency, and cost awareness
• Strong ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain architecture standards, patterns, and roadmaps across the bank’s application portfolio
• Lead solution architecture for Commercial banking SaaS apps (Fiserv, Abrigo, MANTL, Q2, Snowflake, Salesforce) and support card/loan platforms
• Design secure, scalable, and compliant solutions meeting business and risk requirements
• Guide Azure cloud decisions for identity, security, monitoring, integration, and cost
• Create architecture diagrams, integration flows, and technical designs
• Evaluate vendor platforms and third-party solutions for fit and long-term support
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business, IT, risk, compliance, and vendors
• Promote reusable patterns, reduce technical debt, and maintain documentation
• Support Agile delivery, release management, monitoring, and production support
• Ensure secure, auditable, compliant tech solutions and vendor risk management
