Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a Senior Cloud/Software Engineer to modernize wealth management platforms. You will design, build, and deploy cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure, focusing on data pipelines, AI-enabled workflows, and scalable microservices.

You’ll collaborate with teams to ensure secure, compliant software delivery within the bank’s SDLC. The role emphasizes hands-on development, code reviews, and architecture discussions to deliver measurable business value across wealth

Qualifications

• Associate degree and a minimum of 5 years’ systems analysis and/or application development work experience or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ systems analysis and/or application development work experience.
• In lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ education and/or relevant work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ systems analysis and/or application development work experience.
• Advanced proficiency in minimum of 1 relevant programming language.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy and support enterprise applications using C#, .NET, and cloud-native Azure services.
• Build scalable APIs, microservices, and event-driven solutions supporting Wealth Technology products and business capabilities.
• Design and implement modern cloud architectures using Azure-native services and platform capabilities.
• Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines supporting operational and analytical workloads.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows to improve engineer productivity and solution delivery.
• Work independently and within the approved SDLC to solve business needs and minimize risks to the Bank by writing clean and resilient code.
• Review pull requests, provide feedback, and manage change via SDLC policies.
